Foundations - Basic Obedience Class

This six week group training class is designed to give owners and dogs a sturdy foundation of tools to work together.  In a group environment your pet gains both social skills and obedience.  Plus, you will gain control through learning to lead your dog through basic obedience commands.  In an effort to give everyone the best learning environment possible most classes will be limited to 8 People and their dogs.

Topics Covered:
Sit/Stay, Release, Lets Go! Watch Me!, Down, Leave It, Roll, Heel, Heel with change of pace, Recall , Down for Examination, Stay with distraction.

Final Proof Review, Leader Of The Pack Lecture, Certificate Presentation.

Location:
 Urban Fauna - 939 SW 10th Ave (corner of SW 10th and Salmon) Portland

When:   
Sundays at 1:00 p.m. or  2:30 p.m.
Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Mondays at 7:00 p.m.

Fee:       
$175 per dog – Payment due on 1st day of class

Classes are approximately one hour in length. Classes run for 6 weeks. Best Behavior Outdoor Class -
New Classes Enrolling Now!

This three week intensive training is held in real-world outdoor settings.  Basic skills are proofed and refined, while new skills for overcoming distractions and strengthening recall are introduced.  In an effort to give everyone the best learning environment, and address targeted issues, this class will be limited to no more than 8 people and their dogs.
Topics Covered:
Proofing of basic commands learned in the Foundations class.  New topics including; Pack Walk, Long Sit/Down/Stay, Long-Line and Round Robin Recall, Leave-It  with High-value distraction, and student specific issues as time permits.

Final Proof Review and Market Walk, Leader Of The Pack Lecture, Certificate Presentation.

Location:
 Tom McCall Park on the waterfront in Downtown Portland.  Meet on the grass at the SW side of the Hawthorne Bridge.

Summer Pack Walk Program - Closed

Wish you could get out with a group of fellow dog lovers and enjoy the city?  Need to brush up on your dog's leash skills in an urban environment.  Looking for a great workout for you and your dog?  Well, then the Summer Pack Walk program is just the ticket! 

This program is a "drop-in" option for people looking to exercise their dogs in a fun and engaging environment.  While there will be no official training segment, the group will benefit from the guidance and experience of trainer Mark Dunlap throughout the entire walk.  He will be available to answer questions, give tips and tricks to improving your walking experience and help keep order among the pack. 

Pack Walks will be held in downtown Portland at the waterfront three times a week and last approximately 1 hour.  You and your dog will need to be able to comfortably walk the entire waterfront loop; the waterfront loop includes areas of steep incline, uneven surfaces and floating docks.  Please be sure to bring water for you and your dog, and to wear proper attire and comfortable shoes.  You must show your pass at the start of each walk.  Your Pack Pass will give you unlimited access to any or all of the walks during the calendar month. 

Only $40 per month - Less than $3.50 per walk with Unlimited Access!

Dogs must have basic obedience skills and be friendly to other dogs, people and children.  One pack pass per dog/owner please.  Owners accept all responsibility for their dogs behavior during the entire walk.  Due to the nature of the program and the nominal fee, Pack Passes will be available on a monthly basis, will not be pro-rated. refundable, or transferable.  This special can not be combined with any other coupons or special offers.
